it's not that she doesn't know what to do she's just not doing what she knows she should be doing and then we use the excuse but I don't know what to do yes you do because I can think of 25 things that you should be doing you know 25 things that you should be doing but instead you're telling yourself I don't know what to do so then the language that you are using is I don't know what to do so now you have created an identity around I'm a person who never knows what to do but that's not even a real identity
[Music] all right everyone welcome back to the bizfluencer podcast today is a very very special day because I have my wonderful beautiful friend Mentor OG influencer Bessie Dr Tracy Timberlake here with me today Dr Tracy Timberlake is a multi-award-winning money mindset business coach speaker and online influencer in the last seven years she has built not one but two multi-million dollar businesses no shock there if you know her and she teaches her clients to do the same by focusing on methods that help them break out of the middle class money mentality and elevating to a place of conscious wealth creation which is what we're going to talk about today so before we dive into money mindset and all that I want to talk a little bit about how we met because I think it's important people know that we've been on the internet a long time we've been around so yes uh Tracy and I met on YouTube I think back in like 2012. it was a very long time ago and anytime it was a long time ago at the time we were both doing women's Beauty and lifestyle vlogging which was so much fun yes and it actually was and still is sometimes when we get a chance to right when we get a chance but I think at some point you recognized that like the following and the work involved and the money you were making from it was not adding up correct yes that and that would have been like 2000 and like 2015 because you know there was that whole influencer boom when we started out like I don't even think that the term influencer was a word um I think we were just you know some girls making videos in their bathrooms or in their bedrooms or wherever we were making videos uh you know and and it was fun and we got a chance to play around with product and and meet people and have these really awesome conversations in a really fun community and then you started realizing like there were people who started making a lot of money doing this um but you know as in any industry there's always going to be the top performers then everybody else kind of lives under them and so I was already starting to get asked a lot of questions around personal branding around how can I use video as an entrepreneur and I was like answering those questions like off to the side and didn't really know that that was a thing like didn't know that that could be a business didn't know that I could make money from doing that outside of just like brand sponsorships in YouTube but that that really happened like in 2015 and it was such a busy time right it was such a when you're an influencer or like a full-time influencer and most of us were because we enjoyed it but when we were doing that we were spending so much time and not getting the money back in return and I think that was part of my frustration because we were both still in nine to five jobs at the time I was working at a law school you were working in law and uh you know there's a lot of time and effort spent on building up our channels building up our blogs and and our social media but not a lot of return back and so it was one of those decisions I had to make like do I continue to do this or uh just stay at my nine-to-five job and thankfully the good Lord showed to me that there's a world called online coaching and that's how I kind of made that transition I love that I love that there's so much similarity between our stories because I had that same moment where I was like I cannot do both of these things this is going to be impossible I wanna you know I always am grateful for you being one of the very first examples of people I saw doing online coaching full-time and and making me think okay there is something Beyond what I'm doing here on you know on the lifestyle side on the vlogger side and there's more possibility and then he went on and got a degree in it yeah actually started school already so I started my doctorate in 2014 again because I was working at the University already and they were paying for it so why not just like go to school for free why not just randomly I already had a master's degree obviously right let's just let's just dive into this and and yeah and my original my original dissertation my original area of study happened to be in social media because I was already on social media as an influencer um but then in 2016 when I started my business I was like well if this is the business that I'm going to be doing and this is my life's work that I might as well um you know study it from a different perspective because there's a lot of coaches and every coach has their angle and every coach has their methods and and how they do things I Am Naturally a inquisitive research kind of person so I figured you know what it's going to make sense to research this and see what makes the online World business tick what makes women so successful at this and and so that was my area of study I switched it up and you've gone on to create not one but two multi-million dollar businesses along the way and part of that is your excellent so fun money mindset like you are the person thank you in my life that has one of the best overall business you know and Entrepreneurship mindsets life mindsets but money mindset really is you're saying and when I joined platform I think it was 2018. my I did not know mindset was a thing that was required like I thought yeah entrepreneurship was like a video game where if you pressed the right combination of buttons money would come out right and I just I did not know money mindset was a thing I didn't know mindset just in general was the thing do you remember anything about the conversations we had back then oh yeah I remember Lots actually I remember you know when we would talk about things and and you saying you know it just sounds like Lulu I just don't get it I just don't understand but here's the thing what you were willing to do though is you were just willing to try like some people are like no that's dumb I don't want to do it but I think that you're like listen it doesn't make sense to me I don't understand it it sounds like a little like something that does not resonate because you know as an attorney obviously uh I think that you know your your brain thinks like an engineer which is why it thinks to like there's a linear process there or there's a there's a way to uncover how this happens um as a lot of attorneys do a lot of good attorneys and so I think that's where your mind was and so it does introduce you to a whole nother Dynamic of yourself that's the thing about mindset is it's it's all purely you and the thing about you is that you were willing to go down the conversation and you didn't just shut it off you know at the starting line and I think that's what's really important well that's good I'm glad I'm not the only one who came to you thinking like what the heck is mindset all about because oh you know a lot of people too I'm sure they do and now that I'm coaching my own clients I have also um expanded my agency my social media marketing agency into offering business coaching now um now that I'm coaching my own clients I'm seeing it from the other side going oh okay yeah I need to get them over that hump but I'm so grateful to have that experience especially with you of like what did Tracy say to me that made it click or how did she you were so patient thank you for being so patient um but trying to think that has to be right right so yeah I mean and I think that's different for everybody I yeah I think it's different for everyone like what is the thing that makes it make sense for some people they are uh they're they're I don't want to say easily swayed but for some people it makes sense right away and like oh okay this is what I'm doing and then for some people it really is hitting up against an identity of theirs like this is not how I've operated I've operated according to a set of rules step one step two step three and now I'm sudden you're telling me that there's like a step three point a and I don't even know what that is so I think everybody's a little bit different in that regard but it's fun to watch it unfold it's it's fun for me as a coach to see how it clicks for each individual because they start to step into a version of themselves that they didn't even know existed absolutely and I was just telling Tracy before this recording I am in the middle of my highest sales day ever in business and the feeling I'm having now I could not have possibly upheld this this level of I I could not have operated on this level five years ago and so it's insane to see how much the mindset work has contributed to me being able to be like oh yeah like yeah we're gonna celebrate yeah this is amazing but like this is expected this is normal this is not a surprise that this is happening yes
for those people who were like me back in the day and were like I see the steps I see that I have to post this many times I see I have to um you know have one macro form of content that I then redistribute across all my social media channels I see that I have to have a funnel I see that I have to do email marketing I see that I have to do all the things explain to them how the mindset actually works to support all of that yes yes um and and just let me be clear like you do need all the things like you do have to actually do things um in in your business you have to be visible you have to be present you have to create the funnels you have to create the content you have to show up and I believe in doing the damn thing like I said uh I if there's one thing about me I'm going to show up for it um but I show up for it with an intention of expecting for what I want to happen to happen because a lot of the times people do those things um but in the background they have these limiting beliefs that are saying like I'm gonna do it but this isn't gonna work I'm gonna this is gonna you know that this is taking so much time it's it's never going to happen for me and so when you are having that the way that the brain works is the brain is looking for evidence of whatever your thoughts are so if you're telling yourself it's not going to work your brain's like let me find all of the different ways that we can prove to ourselves that this is not going to work yeah so then you put up a post and then you see that it gets like 15 likes and you're like where are all the people and you're like see I knew it I knew that this wasn't going to work well because that's what you were looking for like your your brain is literally wired to do that it's part of your particular activating system this is science this isn't even like the woo-woo stuff we haven't even gotten to that yet this is literal science you will look for the thing that you are trying to create evidence of so that is discouraging and and just by sheer nature of humanity if you kept taking a test and you kept failing uh most people would quit at some point like why would I continue to take a test that I keep getting an F on like clearly this is not for me and I think for a lot of people there's a big shift that has to happen from you know starting a business to being successful in business and usually the mind is what's going to get them to to stop before the body does like because your your mind is an incredibly powerful tool so if you keep telling yourself you're failing at something naturally we try to avoid as much pain as possible it's human nature so why would you continue to put yourself something through something so with so much suffering and Trauma um but if you tell yourself okay this is going to work I know it's going to work as a matter of fact I'm expecting for it to work now the brain is like okay well let's show all the evidence that this is actually working and that creates more motivation it's just like when you're working out you know if you work out for six months and you don't see any results you're probably gonna quit because you're like this isn't working this is terrible but if you work out and you're like oh I lost a half a pound that's working it's going to be motivation enough to take you to the next step that's how mindset works that's how the power of your mindset muscle is working for you or against you you are always creating with the thoughts that you have and that's what people don't realize is that you're always creating there's not um it's not like you become an entrepreneur and now you're creating no you've been creating since you were born it's just now we're doing it with intention and we're doing it um with a little bit of strategy yes that's so so that's been my experience as well it it's almost like once I understood that the mindset wasn't actually I mean it is kind of doing magic on the back end but at that the main function of it was to keep me in the game then it changed I was like oh okay so if this is so I don't quit this is so I look at a failure and go okay what can we tweak for next time and what can we do differently and what can we try and hey what did work instead of thinking oh this sucks yes I'm the worst and I'm never gonna do this again so the main function I think is to just keep you in the game and that is 90 of succeeding in business I think because most businesses don't make it past year literally a huge majority don't make it past year five and you're at you're what 8 10 I'm a year six eight so yeah we're you're eight yeah yeah doing great things but but it really and truly like you have to change how you think about yourself you have to change how you think about success you have to change how you think about money in order to experience all the things that you're wanting because if you're coming from an entrepreneur or if you're coming from an employee background and most of us do the way that we think about money is very different the way that we think about money is I'm gonna work and then I'm gonna get a paycheck I'm gonna work and I'm gonna get a paycheck right whereas when you're an entrepreneur it's it's a completely different ball game there's not a guarantee of like a paycheck every two weeks so how are you accounting for that and it's that Gap uh that that we have to fill we have to fill that Gap in in how your mind works so that you keep going that's incredible and that's a great segue to talking about money mindset specifically because up until now we've kind of been talking generally about like having a good mindset in business but I want to talk a little bit more about what you just said about shifting from an employee mindset where someone is working and the direct immediate payoff is that paycheck every two weeks versus the money mindset that someone like an entrepreneur has to have and the reward of that being it's not going to be the same paycheck every time there's the potential for exponential growth of that paycheck over time if you do things right so I would love to talk about the shift there yeah I mean let's see we can hear it on a lot of different angles but for most people here's the big problem most people only know how to make money by being an employee so if you try to get them to be an entrepreneur the concept of making money as an entrepreneur it's and you can see where the problems lie they're under charging they um they or they they don't know what to charge at all um or they're not able to match up their level of expertise with the the actual programs packages courses uh that they're creating so you see this being very prevalent for entrepreneurs because they don't know how to make money as an entrepreneur they only in their mind I have to work hard to make money in their mind uh I can only be paid as an as an employee and so the shift there really has to take place in understanding that money is Just Energy and I tell people this all the time and this is where it starts to get really woo-woo for people because they don't understand this concept but everything is energy so let's get into the science of that everything is energy I am energy your energy the cell phone is energy the computers that we're talking on if you look at them at the microscopic level at the sub atomic particle level it's nothing like that's what science is finding is everything is actually nothing only in the known universe only about four percent this is what NASA has found out you can Google this NASA's found that in the known universe only about four percent of the known universe not the world not the Earth not the like our Milky Way galaxy the known universe only four percent is actual solid matter everything else is just nothing It Is Just Energy it is like the Blank Space and Science can't under can't fully understand that but they're seeing it when they're looking at the microscopic particles and there's been so many studies on this you know if anybody wants to Google it or watch it on YouTube there's the double slit experiment heart math Institute does a lot of work in this area just understanding the science behind the nothingness because why is it nothing so really it's just about this is where you get into things like Law of Attraction but law of attraction is not think good things and then good things happen because that's an overly simplistic way of looking at it it's really about understanding the laws of nature that like does in fact attract like you are vibrating at a particular frequency like it's just like music music has a frequency to it whether it's 428 Hertz whether it's 586 Hertz music has a Cadence Music has a frequency you do too your cells are vibrating that vibration attracts things that match it so do you match a level of money that you want most people match money like if you have a salary right now the amount of money that you are making is a match to who you are that's the simple way of looking at it you are currently matched to the amount of money that is in your bank account so if you want more money in your bank account you have to elevate your vibration to a place that matches the level of money that you are wanting and that's the the concept of what people don't truly understand in the beginning and so the work is really getting them to elevate the their actual frequency to tune into higher levels because high levels of money is a high level frequency so can you get yourself to vibrate at a level that matches the amount of money that you want to make okay tough question what the heck does that mean like what does that mean elevate your frequency like does that mean go back to school and get a degree does that mean take a bubble bath every night and make myself relax like when somebody's thinking about like okay I get it I understand how the mechanism works but I don't know how to raise my own frequency
yeah and and such a great question because the cool thing is is that um the late great doctor Hawkins David Hawkins he actually measured the frequency of human emotion uh if you look at the Latin human the word emotion actually just means energy in motion that's what the Latin words wow that's what the Latin means so every emotion that you have you have to look at it this way your feelings are like the language of your body but each feeling has its own frequency so if you are feeling things like doubt and fear those are low level frequencies that are going to attract things that match the low level frequencies so for example and we can look at this as like Murphy's Law or you know things like that but if if you're having a bad day right and a lot of people have this I have these too you have a bad day and it's like everything keeps happening like everything bad that can happen happens you you're late for wherever you want to go then you get a flat tire and then oh my gosh like now there's all this traffic and it just seems like it keeps piling up because usually there's there's a part of you and no one wants to hear this part but there's a part of you that is actually a match for those experiences because what I've also realized is that I can vibrate at a higher frequency so let's take like Joy or even contentment is much higher than than the frequency as measured by Dr Hawkins than the frequency of like fear and doubt so if I'm experiencing a high level frequency things that match that high level frequency are going to happen too so if I'm let's you're having a large money day whenever something like that happens something good happens that's what I start like wishing and wanting for all the things of the world like what else do I want because I'm obviously vibrating so high and I'm so excited so what else can I create in this moment and this is what I talk about when it's like constant or conscious wealth creation is creating from a place intentionally I know where I'm vibrating so I'm going to create from this place trying to create a successful business from doubts and fears it never works it's not going to work because you're not you're not matching the kind of business that you want you want this life of freedom but you're experiencing all of these these decisions from fear or you're making all these decisions from Fear you want to experience all of this abundance and and money just free flowing but you're doubting the processes that you're creating well how does that work because the place where you're starting isn't even a match to the things that you're wanting and and that's why the mindset piece is so important that's why a lot of people struggle in the beginning because they're not they can't they can't seem to get the two to a line and so it's like how can we just get you to feel a little bit better and I'm not trying to jump everybody into feel the most excited you've ever felt in your whole life because that doesn't work either right we have to sometimes gradually go from like well I don't know if this is going to work to huh well maybe it can work two okay well I'm gonna do it and I'm just gonna be neutral about it I'm not gonna have any attachment to now it's working and now we're a little bit more excited right so on the scale of emotion and anybody can Google this it's Dr Hawkins emotional frequency like actual scale uh you can see which levels are low and which levels are higher the higher level ones are the ones that you want to create from I love that and as you're speaking I'm thinking a little bit more about how I felt when you first explained this to me and I'm thinking like I get it like I understand it works right but I don't like it still wasn't clicking for me and I think the way I thought about it was more like you move differently when you feel different you let's say you're positive You're Expecting The Big client to come you're you know you've created a great program you're confident in that program so what you've done now is okay I've got slots in my calendar for these clients to show up I know there's like rooms yes and I've spent time and energy and perhaps money preparing for these dream clients so when someone says yes I want to work with you I can sign them on right away now right like now I've got a client like I've made room in my life through my actions based on the fact that I expected this to happen and then again that confirmation of your brain going see I knew this client was coming it always works for me you see I I made room for them and now they're here but in that same scenario if you had operated with a negative mindset like maybe you spent the last few months preparing for the worst like you're cutting expenses slashing your prices like taking on work you didn't really want to do because you're so worried the money's not going to come in and now when that client says yeah I want to work with you there's no room in your calendar because your operating expenses have like been cut or or there's you're filled up on work that you don't really want to do and then your brain goes see I knew it would never work out but the only difference and a lot of the times those things are subconscious right correct correct and a lot of the time the the actions that we take are subconscious like when you are taking action 95 of the things that you do on a daily basis are happening because you're just programmed to do it right so right if you are a person who's like well I want five clients but you haven't created the space in your calendar for five clients because you have subconsciously filled it up with things that you don't even want all of you know a new book club uh you signed up to be you know your teachers or your child PTA manager whatever like you're subconsciously creating a calendar that doesn't actually align with the things that you want because you haven't allowed yourself to truly step into the expectation of it coming and that's where people get really really confused because they're like but I want these clients that I'm doing all the work yeah but but you're you're doing works with sideways energy you're not actually doing work with intentional energy or you're not consciously um showing up for the thing that you want with all of the actions and and that's where people get married but I tell people like you are the Wi-Fi signal you're the Wi-Fi signal it what signal are you broadcasting are you broadcasting to the world I have no space in my calendar for clients is that what we're doing or are you broadcasting hey I'm open for business everybody come I'm so excited to work with you what Wi-Fi signal are you broadcasting because that's what you are going to be begin to attract back into your life that's so so true and I think that made it thinking about it that way made it a little more concrete for me and made me go oh okay now I know what to do I have to make space and have the energy of the thing that I want versus okay I'm good I want this thing but I'm gonna be realistic or I'm gonna hedge my bets and I want to talk about being realistic for a second because I know you have thoughts on this and I had I I was in my Mastermind on a coaching call um with my clients the other day and somebody said well I like to be realistic and I and I said well why does realistic mean negative like why does realistic always mean preparing for the worst because if you were truly being realistic you would recognize that there is a possibility for the best to happen
right yeah I think I think that's that's such a good way to to put that like this whole concept of being realistic because here's the thing what's realistic to you is not realistic to me you know and what's realistic to me is not realistic to Jeff Bezos like you know what I mean so we're out here creating what's realistic to us and that's where you have to shift is you have to start intentionally deciding what is realistic because a world of of realistic stuff like my world to me is very realistic like if I want to make two hundred thousand dollars next week I'm making 200 000 next week and that's a very realistic thing I've done that over and over again it's a very realistic concept for me that's not weird to somebody else that might be like oh that's not realistic I can only make five and that that's okay but your version of realistic to your point does you have to decide where you're going to default in realism right like where is your realistic default and then can you begin to shift out of that because you decide you get to decide what life looks like you get to decide what business looks like you get to decide how much money you make you get decide the kinds of relationships that you allow in your life you get to decide how you want to spend your time all of these there are things many things in life that we do not get to decide we don't get to decide what family we're born into we don't necessarily get to decide you know what color hair we're born with like but there are a lot of things that you do get to choose and you don't have to be a victim of circumstance or external appearance or victim of you know negative thoughts belief systems that you've inherited from your parents or your grandparents that don't even belong to you and that you don't even want so choose your real uh for sure but your real doesn't have to be something negative just as you said unless you want it to be and in which case by all means well you know some choose your true ideas here that I would love to love to chat with you about is number one like unless you want it to be and of course people will say no I don't want it to be why would I want it to be negative but a lot of times what I find with my clients is that when their experience they feel like they're doing all the things and they're still stuck where they feel like they can't move their business forward in some way or something's just not happening and it doesn't make sense we'll look at how their current situation is actually serving them or how they actually want what's currently happening
yeah um what's funny about that and and I've been in you know probably hundreds of coaching calls at this point around that same concept where people say they want something but there's something that's stuck and usually there's something that's stuck there's something in there you know subconscious Vortex that is forcing them to stay in that place so yesterday I had a conversation with a client Divine um and she was saying like I just feel like I don't know what to do I feel like I just don't know what to do and so in diving a little bit deeper we get to the place where you know she's like well I was going back to a time in 2019 where I didn't know what to do and I was laid off from my job and it's not a third so we dive a little bit deeper into that conversation and come to find out it's not that she doesn't know what to do she's just not doing what she knows she should be doing and then we use the excuse but I don't know what to do yes you do because I can think of 25 things that you should be doing you know 25 things that you should be doing but instead you're telling yourself I don't know what to do so then the language that you are using is I don't know what to do so now you have created an identity around I'm a person who never knows what to do but that's not even a real identity because you have actually always known what to do you just don't do it and that's a different conversation so we get to that you know she's crying it's we're getting to that place it's you know it's it's a much deeper conversation but this is I would say one of the values of coaching because as much as you know we love Ai and what AI is doing what AI is not going to do is help you ask ask the right questions to help you get into your subconscious um if you're subconscious mind in 45 minutes so I I love having those Deep dive conversations in the space of stuck because usually there's a huge breakthrough that's waiting to happen in that moment but it just takes a little bit of of deep diving into what your subconscious is telling you or what what language you are using with yourself that's causing you to be stuck and it's it's a lot easier to shift out of when you're willing to go there and have the deeper dive conversation and most people just aren't most people are just willing to stay in the negative or this is just who I am this is where it's going to be and we don't want to we don't want to do those Excavating um excursions into ourselves to truly uncover what's what's causing the stock but it's pretty easy to shift out of when you ask the right questions that's incredible I love that story something that you touched on earlier that I think goes really well with this conversation is you know you don't get to choose what family you're born into there's a lot of things you don't get to choose and a lot of times we take on stories particularly about money from the situation and the family that we're born into and I did not realize that money doesn't work the same for everyone like I thought the rules were the same for everyone you know whether you had more or less the rules were the same you have to work hard for the money and the money comes and the amount of effort is a linear relationship to the amount that you get back and I think that was just my story and there are many many others but I would love for to hear your perspective on uncovering the money stories that you may have and then shifting out of them and deciding what your new one or ones is going to be
yeah um you know speaking to the story of you know I have to work hard for money I tell people I'm like the more money I make the less hard I work like I'm literally lounging on my couch right now like just enjoy living my best life right like I definitely do not work as a hard as I did you know eight years ago when I started my business um because you have team and and you can hire more people and other people are doing things for you and uh so that's how I know that that is not actually real because but a lot of people will come to the table of I have to work really hard I have to hustle to make money and I'm like why who said that who said that where did you learn that from because asking those questions or really allowing yourself to challenge your own beliefs around money is going to uncover where it came from and usually if you just ask yourself where did that where did that come from I have to work hard for money says who who said that because I didn't say that right or even the concept of you know all wealthy people are selfish says who who said that where did that come from right and a lot of the times it does come from our family and and so what science is is starting to uncover is that trauma lives in our bodies for up to 14 Generations that's a long time especially if you come from an immigrant family if you come from an enslaved family um there's a lot of trauma that you're probably carrying that doesn't even belong to you and here you are trying to deal with it and it's created a whole bunch of narratives and you're wondering why do I even think like that well it's because it's not yours so we have to let it go one of the things that one of the exercises I give people when they really want to do some deep diving into their own money story is to go through a timeline we just do a timeline of your life and I want you to identify on this timeline every single money memory that you have like I can remember my very first money memory I can remember my mom was a stay-at-home mom my dad was in the military they were I was probably four at the time it was in the evening and my mom had shown my dad her empty wallet right and so from that and I don't remember it being an argument there was no kicking screaming nothing like that I don't remember that but I just remember that instant um and what I glean from that I think as a child I developed a very hyper-independence around money because I just I never wanted to rely on anybody didn't want to rely on a man didn't want to rely my parents for money honestly I started working and making my own money at 14. um you know babysitting really anything dog sitting anything that I could do because I didn't want to rely on or ask anybody for money because I remember that very first money story and the narrative that it created inside of me uh and so a lot of people have that like maybe you remember your parents arguing at the dinner table that there weren't and there wasn't enough money that month for you know all the bills maybe you can remember being at Kmart and you wanted something and your mom said no we can't afford that and all of the stories and the narratives that you teach yourself as a child uh to reconcile why that's happening those usually move with you into adulthood and then you start to live out that practice as a grown person who really and truly needs to give themselves time to heal from the money trauma that they've experienced uh because it's prevalent it is and everybody has it I've even you can even talk about the wealthiest people they all everybody has some sort of money trauma that they need to heal from and I just think that you need to give yourself the time and space uh and gift of of being able to to really work through some of those things especially if you want to run a business and you want to make a lot of money so how does somebody do that how can they actually improve or get rid of or rewrite these old stories how do they improve their money mindset because it seems when you're in it it seems so real like it seems like this is how money works the end it does yeah it does and and so part of that is as you are uncovering these narratives that you've told yourself you can then begin to renegotiate them right like you can begin to renegotiate the concept of I have to work hard for money do you want that to be true is that even true like you can even ask yourself is that really a true statement well it's not right but it it's true for you if you've chosen to live a life that looks like that but you can always choose again that's the beautiful thing about any any sort of conscious wealth creation is you can choose the narrative that you want to have oftentimes it's not like there's like one lesson you can sit down I don't have like a webinar you can sit down write down all of your money memories and create new it doesn't work that way usually there's like it's Progressive right like you uncover one thing and then you're like okay I feel it from that and then like you up level again and then you uncover another thing and then another thing and it continues to grow but what happens is that as as you're uncovering new things you just have better tools to deal with them those first few you though are going to be indicative because that's going to determine what kind of strategies do you put in place to really to start to change the narrative so one is of course something as simple as affirmations which I always tell people like but the thing about affirmations is repetition is the key you really need to tell yourself an affirmation 400 times for it to begin to start creating a new neural synapse in your brain most people don't want to do it 400 times most people want to do it like three times and be like I don't see the millions what do you Tracy you're telling me I need to declare that I'm a millionaire and it's not I'm not a millionaire yet right but it takes 400 times so if we're using affirmations just using that tool there's two reasons why affirmations don't want don't work one you don't want it for whatever subconscious reason right I some people are afraid of their own success and subconsciously will sabotage themselves but they don't know that until you've done some of this work or you don't believe it and belief really is the muscle behind changing your mindset because there's no point in trying to affirm something if you don't truly if you can't get your belief behind that thing if you can't get your belief behind I'm a millionaire don't say I'm a millionaire because that's you're actually doing opposite work instead you can change that up to every day I am working towards being a millionaire or every day I'm getting used to the idea of becoming a millionaire you have to change it to something that your your physical body can be like okay I can get behind that because your subconscious mind will tell you and then you will begin to experience what your beliefs are so affirmations is one um some more advanced strategies would definitely be meditation because what meditation does is it rewires your brain um kind of in 15 or 20 minutes and so that's another one that I would use visualization is huge we talked about getting into the frequency of a thing visualization is great because if you can visualize your future life and you can sit in the energy of that you can sit in the energy of a high level vibration and if you can do that for five minutes well now you're actually creating a Wi-Fi signal that you want right now you're not going to live in that visualization all day but if you do it often enough it starts to become your dominant frequency and when something is dominant you start to experience it more and more number three is staying in the conversation this is what I tell people all the time one of the reasons why this is so hard is because usually nobody around them is experiencing the level of expansion that they're experiencing at the same rate like if you are married and you're trying to up level your money mindset but your husband or your wife is is just not on board with this that's going to be hard if you're you're trying to talk to your parents your mom your dad about elevating your money mindset and all they know is you know being an employee that's going to be hard so you have to stay in the conversation with people who get it you have this is why you get into masterminds this is why you get into you know I have a membership group I do these conversations every single day with them because you have to stay in the elevated conversation about money expansion because that's gonna again create a level of frequency that you are normalizing so that it's not weird because a lot of the times when you start having this these talks with yourself you start to feel a little weird like is it weird for me to think that I can make you know a hundred thousand dollars in a day in the beginning yes but why do you think so normalize the frequency of it it's not weird anymore then you're like oh this is like a Tuesday
yes I love that and thank you for giving those actionable steps because I think that people especially at the beginning I remember being like okay but what do I do and then you know the point is that you're not doing anything you're becoming something but like what do I do to become the thing so I think that is very very helpful for someone who like me was so I don't want to say stuck because like you said I was willing to try but so in this idea of like well this is how things are so like playing games with myself is not gonna is not gonna do anything so having something to focus on like and put on my calendar was super helpful like hey you need to meditate hey you need to be in the conversation that's my coaching and masterminds are like so valuable I don't think I will ever do like a wonderful container again like I might but I will always be in a mastermind for that reason because the conversations that are happening are just so helpful in a world where like you know we sit at our desk behind our computers all day long tapping on our keys or you know right some of us are lounging on our couch but like you're not in conversations with people in your real life most of the time that are that are doing this right so yes that's why it's so valuable to get in a community like that um so we've had an amazing conversation one last thing I want to touch on and this again goes back to our point of like what's realistic what do we have control over what are we where are we actually making decisions that are helpful for our growth and for our businesses um there is a recession happening and a lot of business owners are worried um so I would love to talk a little bit about how important it is to have an ongoing money mindset practice right now um and how important it is to collect evidence that growth is possible during this time I love this conversation um because recession I don't know her I don't I don't know I've made more money I've made more money in in this recession than I've ever made in my business at all so um I don't know what that means and same with my clients it's not just me my clients too like they're making they're very regularly having 50 60 70 000 months um through what's quote unquote or recession I I what I do believe and this is my mindset is that um I create my own economy uh I do not live in someone else's so I don't care what the world is that what's happening out there in that world my economy starts in here um and in here so when I'm pointing to my for those listening I'm pointing to my head and I'm pointing to my heart uh that's where my economy begins uh and so I get to decide how I want to experience myself through a current external recession as you know people are calling it do I want to experience myself as somebody who is going to be a victim of it or do I want to experience myself as somebody who is going to expand above and beyond through it um the recession doesn't stop my flow I've always said my business grows every single year that is my belief that is what I abide by that is what I get to experience now I'm not saying that I don't have bobbles along the way right like I think we can all watch a news a News segment or read an article and be like oh my God but ultimately I go back to the truth about myself and what is the truth I live my own economy I've always lived in my own economy I create the money that I want I create the experience that I want and that's pretty much the end of that that is on period and we don't it's not it's a non-negotiable conversation around money it's like I'm not negotiating my experience with money according to the Dow Jones like we're not doing that right and so for people who are in that space of fear I would encourage you number one get into a mastermind where the conversations are higher because in the spaces that I'm in we don't talk about recession we talk about making money so get into that conversation like is it you can be a part of a conversation around you know how do we save like I have through the pandemic and into the recession I bought a new house bought a new car I have I still have my current house I still have my current car I'm saying I bought an extra one I decided I was gonna have an extra one in another city um I decided that I was going to make more money than ever I 300 I so far this year have 300xed my business um because I decided that that's what I was going to do and this is something that you can also do with the power of decision and even with the power of your mind and even last month when I was a little bit Dowdy I was like I don't know if I'm gonna hit the goal this month literally in like less than 24 hours I was like oh well there it is well somebody that I was looking for thank you um because I know the power of my own energy and I know the power of what what I can create and I want everybody if I could just instill that in every single person you can in fact create any kind of life that you want what are you creating though is the question like what thoughts are you having because those thoughts are creative every thought that you have is creating something so you have to decide is that the kind of life you want to create in a recession get into the masterminds get coaching get into conversations that are going to elevate your Consciousness to something Beyond a recession because there are a lot of people out here who are experiencing this the recession in in a in a way that no one would believe people are making tons of money like yes you're seeing a lot of people that are being laid off and what I tell people with the layoffs is I'm like listen the companies that are letting people off are tech companies do you know how many Tech startups are about to happen right now we just we have the flourish media conference in February do you know how much money is available for investment into tech companies because I have these conversations regularly when it comes to investors who are like hey who do you know I have all this money I want to give it away who do you know that's starting a tech company who do you know that starting a real estate business who do you know that's that's doing this kind of so these conversations are very routine and I can tell you that the people that are that live in the consciousness of wealth are not thinking about a recession they're making wise choices meaning they're making more Investments now that are going to pay off later um there are more intentional with the Investments they're not as like all loosey-goosey with the money but they are still investing and they're still making money I love that I think that's so important to remember too and to getting getting into those conversations also serves another purpose which is to allow you to collect evidence that this is possible during a recession because when I'm having a conversation with a friend who just had a 200 200k launch this month but I can go oh okay so people do still make money right now it's not that no one's buying anything literally people are buying because my friend just said so I love that that allows you to sort of collect evidence that that this is possible the other thing I would just like to add for anybody who is like me back in the day when I didn't believe that I had this kind of power over my reality bare minimum thinking like this allows you to ex have a more positive experience within the same circumstances right like bare minimum deciding that you're not going to worry about you know you're going to make wise choices but you're not going to allow money worries to like drag your whole day down allows you to have a more positive experience on that day whether the money changes or not so there is still a benefit to it even if it doesn't change anything which it will right but but you have to stay in it for a little bit for it to actually you actually to start seeing the results of that but staying in there is a almost immediate positive uh aspect to it which is that your your immediate experience is going to be better because you're not wallowing yeah and that's and that's and it really can be immediate like if you close your eyes and for 60 seconds I told you to Envision uh you know whatever envision your dream house now I know Donata lives in her dream house now because she built it but it started as a conversation you know like it started as an idea um but for most people like Ray for most people if I'm like close your eyes and envision your dream house you can do that in an instant you can do that in probably less than 10 seconds right so in less than 10 seconds you really can allow yourself to feel better most people just don't want to go there they don't give themselves the permission to dream bigger but just having a dream and then sitting with the dream and feeling all the good feelings that come with it automatically changes your energy and do you think that's because they worry about what will happen if they don't get it oh yeah for sure I think people worry about both I think they worry about what will happen if they get it and I think they worry about what will happen if they don't get it so if they get it this is how you know fear of success comes into play because people start to think oh well if I have this big house I have to pay all these taxes oh I have this big house my electricity bill is going to go up and it's like okay but just assume that you're going to have the money to pay those things or oh if I have this big house my family is going to start asking me for money right so these are self-sabotaging thoughts to the success that you want and you've turned the success into a burden and not into the blessing that it can be that will hinder you from being successful because now you're going to be like your subconscious says oh well we don't want to have that big house because if we have that big house everybody's gonna ask to move in and so then you're not going to get the big house because your subconscious is like we don't want that so you sabotage your success along the way or what people say is you know what happens if I don't get it if I don't get it I'm going to be disappointed if I don't get it you know I'm gonna feel like a failure most people are afraid of how they're going to feel about not not achieving something then not achieving the thing itself and that can be very scary so I would say neutralize the feelings like so if you don't get it so the heck what get something else like you'll get something different like or if you you don't get what you want and you feel like a failure you're gonna feel like a failure for like maybe a week maybe and then you'll move on and do something else that doesn't make you feel like a failure like there's it doesn't have to be a stop sign it just has to be something that you acknowledge and you realize it's not the big bad wolf it's just a feeling that's it right that's so so amazing we've had a great conversation I just want to wrap up number one by asking if there's any final thoughts you have for for people who are sort of navigating this new world of positive mindset and money mindset
I would say number one believe in the power of your own creation and you can begin to look at that now like the life that you've created the money that you make all of that is a function of you and when you can get your when you can get your belief around that like you are not a victim of your circumstance no one threw you into the house that you live in no one forced you to get the job that you have like you actually chose those things so if you chose those things you can choose something different if you want something different so just really Empower yourself with with decision and Empower yourself with Choice and then the second thing um is just what we've been talking about like if you need to listen to this podcast 50 000 times because you need to stay in the conversation of money then do it if you need to get into a a mindset group or a membership group a mastermind if you need to read a book you need to read it every day do that because the one of the best investments that you can make is obviously in yourself but this is where everything begins you are the seed that creates everything else like everything flourishes because of you so allow yourself to grow in the way that you want by being intentional with your growth that's so amazing Tracy thank you so much for coming on and having this awesome conversation with us today where can everybody find you if they want to hang out with you some more um yeah please hang out with me um I'm Tracy Timberlake everywhere so Instagram Facebook Tick Tock YouTube um that's where you can buy me I'll hang out there every day awesome I will link Tracy's website and some of her social Handles in the show notes for those of you who want to check her out she is amazing again one of my oldest internet friends and I think you guys are gonna love her so definitely go check her out thank you guys so much for listening to the bizfluencer podcast we will see you in the next episode [Music]
